Apart from free distribution of food ration and clothes to people under poverty line, HRI wanted these people to become self-dependent and not HRI-dependent

To achieve this aim, Sewing and Knitting machines are being distributed to the poor women of these areas so that they can earn living by working on them.

These women were trained in stitching and knitting by trainers provided by HRI

HRI is also assessing other economic generation activities suitable to the rural parts of Himachal & Punjab.
